Common questions

How do I get notified when a company appears in a new federal court case?

Start @litigation_monitor_gemheap_bot on Telegram and send /watch Tesla. The bot verifies the entity in CourtListener's RECAP archive, stores your watchlist entry, and alerts you the moment a new docket is detected.

Which courts are covered?

The bot uses CourtListener REST API v4, covering all U.S. district courts, circuit courts, bankruptcy courts, and the Supreme Court — nearly half a billion PACER-related items from the RECAP archive.

How quickly will I be alerted?

The case-poller Lambda runs every hour via Amazon EventBridge. New filings detected in a polling run trigger a Telegram message within the same run, so the maximum delay is approximately one hour after the docket appears in CourtListener.

Can I filter alerts by keyword?

Yes. Use /watch Goldman Sachs fraud to only receive alerts for cases whose names contain "fraud". The keyword filter is optional and applied per watchlist entry.

How much does it cost?

The Free plan (up to 3 entities) is completely free. Pro (up to 20 entities) costs 600 Telegram Stars/month. Team (up to 100 entities) costs 2,000 Stars/month. All payments are handled natively inside Telegram — no credit card needed. Cancel anytime with /cancel and your Stars are refunded automatically.

Will I get duplicate alerts for the same case?

No. Every docket ID is recorded in DynamoDB with a 60-day TTL after the first alert. Subsequent polling runs skip already-seen dockets, so you're only notified about genuinely new cases.

Stop manually checking PACER.

Let the bot watch the dockets. You focus on what matters.
